Fair and Sustainable Meat Processing in NW Tas – Have Your Say

December 8 @ 11:00 am - 1:45 pm

$15

Inspired by conversations from our Supper Series, the Watershed invites you to join in a community discussion with expert Panel Brad Rigney and Tammi Jonas. Together we will explore the opportunity of a zero waste-community led abattoir project in NW Tasmania. The aim of this project is to support small producers in the meat industry to access fair and sustainable meat processing options.

Who can come? We invite small producers, farmers and community members who are interested in supporting and strengthening our local food systems.

Join in the discussion- We will be taking questions from the audience during the panel.

Brad Rigney
Brad’s family roots trace back to South West Queensland in the mid-1800s, where they worked closely with the Bigambul people. With extensive experience in integrated meat processing and management roles across Australia, Brad now owns two small farms in Rocky Cape and leases Lapoinya Abattoir. He also operates Wynyard’s “Inglis River Meats.” Brad’s motto, “from the earth we grow,” guides his work as he champions sustainable and transparent meat production.
