A flow of acoustic blues and folk from Tasmanian songsters Chris O and Brendan Wakely
Chris O
Chris, a local Wynyard musician, is a singer-songwriter penning folk and roots originals as well as vintage music the way it used to be. Her mashup of acoustic blues, folk and roots music draws on a lifetime of encounters with places and people, with songs that celebrate social justice, the natural environment, and the quirks of human nature. She tours Europe regularly and has represented Australia at the International Blues Challenge/National Women in Blues Showcase in Memphis as well as regularly performing in Australian clubs and festivals. Watch as the lap-slide, uke, and banjo stir up fair ole bit of jellyroll and jinx.
Brendan Wakely
Born and raised in Ireland, coming from a musical family, with strong cultural influences of both traditional music and the blues, Brendan has taken these genres and influences with him across the world and established himself in Australia as a well-loved performer. His somewhat tongue in cheek original songs reflect his experiences and journey of life’s ups and downs. Now living in the Huon Valley, his original music grows from the roots of the earth among the hills, mountains, and history, which he combines with raw acoustic blues.
